Make Your Site Visible to Google

I know it has been a little while, but I am back with a good resource for you. I have been extremely busy working on multiple projects. All with good outcomes for you. Without further ado, let's talk about this resource I am telling you about.

When Google crawls the web looking for websites to index (put into it's database), it usually looks for a file called a sitemap, if one is available. A good webmaster will have a sitemap in place so Google can quickly index the pages on the site. When promoting a website, a sitemap is worth it's weight in gold. Google takes the sitemap data in it's index and compares it to see what pages have been updated, if any. The sitemap outlines all the pages on the website and gives them a priority.

Now for the big question.

Where can I get a tool to create a sitemap for my site?

Hey, this is where we come in. A site called XML-Sitemaps.com has put together a program to create a site map for your website. They have even made it convenient by allowing you to click on a link to download the sitemap file (sitemap.xml). It doesn't stop their either. They have different formats that you can download your sitemap in (XML, HTML, ROR).

Promote your website more efficiently by creating a sitemap for your website and get indexed by Google's web crawler.

Consistency and Persistence...and They Will Come

Consistency and persistence are two very necessary elements to make it in the Internet game. You must consistently look for ways to improve. Whether it be the layout, the add-ons, promoting your online presence, it must all be consistently looked upon for ways to get more out of it. Persistence is that trait that tells you not to give up; to keep doing what you are doing until something changes for the better.

A place to start is consistently monitoring your website or blog. There are numerous companies out there with widgets and stats counters. Histats and Sitemeter are two stat counters that I use. You can use the information to determine where your visitors are coming from, where they are going to on your site and even how long they stayed on the site or a particular page. How much information you want to gather is up to you, but learning what these statistics are telling you should be goal number one.

Another aspect is making your page and content search engine friendly. If you are using a blogger platform like WordPress or Blogger, then you already have an edge up. They are already set up to be indexed by search engines like Google. When your post is posted, the tags are used for searches within WordPress or Blogger as well as the search engines themselves.

How can you get good keywords to place within your post's tag section? A utility like WordTracker can help you with keywords. Another resource is Ablewise. They have a SEO (Search Engine Optimization) tool that goes even further. It analyzes the META tags in a document as well as the keywords. It will show you the keyword density and number of times that keywords show up in that post or on that web page. You can analyze the report and see which keywords you are already using and add those that show up in the report, but are not being used.

These are just a few, but definitely not all questions that MUST be answered prior to choosing a program in order to achieve the best results. Now comes the easiest part. Signing up.

• Fill out the form and keep track of your user/ID information.
• Confirm your email address if asked and log into the program website.
• Set up your payment and other required information

Now comes the most difficult part of the program; promoting your program/opportunity to the world. You have multiple methods of promoting your business or opportunity.

• Offline (newspapers, magazines, trade papers, postcard mailings, flyers, business cards, word of mouth)

• Online (website banners, email ads, safelists, website search engine submission, referral marketing (your downline helps you by promoting their site), blogs, link and banner exchange services, PPC (Pay-Per-Click) advertising.

• A tip to help cut down on searching for people interested in your program is to build a referral list. This is called a safelist. The people on this list MUST double-opt-in (confirm that they want to be part of the list twice) in order to be placed on the list. They are also agreeing to accept emails in exchange for sending them. Over time this list can grow large and so too will your businesses. After people know you for a while they will follow you into your new businesses.
  

• Join social networking sites like MySpace, Facebook, Yuwie!, Zen Zuu, and DirectMatches to build business relationships, friends and referrals. Most of them allow you to create a blog and/or add links to your websites in your profile. Sites like MySpace have MILLIONS of users. You can join different groups/communities within these sites. Find a group or community that is in line with what your business opportunity is about.

• Autoresponders are an excellent way to build referrals and close sales or generate sign-ups. They sent a series of programmed messages to prospects over time. Each message is designed to remind the recipient of the opportunity that you are presenting. Aweber, LoopResponders and FreeAutoBot are just a few programs that offer autoresponders. LoopResponders has preprogrammed messages for various programs like Free1Up.

• Obtaining leads for your program is very important. Companies like Business World List, LeadsLeap, MyMegaList, Mammoth List and LoopResponders help you build your list. LoopResponders will even design a custom designed splash page with an email form to collect email addresses for your list.
